Competitive or Cooperative

As a college student, have you ever thought about which is the best preparation for life or career, learning to be competitive or to be cooperative? Different people provide varied answers. In my opinion, bearing the esprit de corps benefits us more than simply being competitive.

It is true that competition can help people make progress. Under the pressure of competition, one will work drudgingly to guarantee his leading place. This has been an established rule in modern times. Nevertheless, comparing competition with cooperation, the latter is more important than the latter. The chief reason is that, as a single person, his strength and intelligence are limited, while cooperativeness multiplies these finite powers and can even transform them into infinite. For example, there is not a single man could send human beings to the moon, however, collaboration between scientists of physics, math, astronomical and other areas left human’s first foot print on the moon. Secondly, emotional requirement needs cooperation. Just image that if everyone refuses to cooperate with you, what will your feeling would be? You must feel greatly depressed and being isolated. Working with others, however, you will not suffer from loneness. Being full of confidence and passionate, you may feel that you can conquer any difficulty. Thirdly, cooperativeness means efficiency for modern industry. Companies will save their effort without overlapped construction, but concentrate on innovations. Therefore, we must bear in our mind that any success of a company depends on team work rather than on individual hero.

In a word, the spirit of cooperation should be instilled into young students, who will solve the world’s most pressing problems, who will live in a harmony society.

My Opinion on Campus Lectures

In recent years, more and more lectures are being given on campus. They are organized either by the departments or by the students unions with an aim to improve the students quality both mentally and academically. These lectures are usually in series and on different topics, such as arts, life, economy, psychology and world issues.

Generally speaking, the advantages of good lectures are various. First they broaden the students knowledge horizon and cultivate interest in different fields. Second, they make the life of the students colorful and enjoyable.

With these merits, lectures are just complementary and subordinate to our school work. If students spend too much time attending lectures, their regular study will be affected and disturbed. So, in my opinion, the students should, on the one hand, do their class work and homework well first, on the other hand, set as more time as possible to attend good lectures which are helpful to our life and study.

Living In our contemporary society ,it's quite common to find ourselves faced with uncountable in justices.Taking a look around,we may find examples numerous to enumerate.Here are the most critical ones.
Firstly,in the university, students’ organizations exist injustice when there is a election in a new term.Some students who are not competent enough may get the position because of intimate relationship with teachers or more experienced students.Secondly,in job hunting,college students find it hard to find a good job than those who have never attended the university.Especially for those who come from rurual areas ,it may take them years to climb the social ladder compared to those who were born with a silver spoon in the mouth.What's more,Joining the army also exists injustice.Some who are really determined and hard working may fail to realize their dreams simply due to body weaknesses.
To sum up,the three examples are similar. What we should do to get rid of the injustice is to equip ourselves with knowledge and make ourselves perfect.Only in this way can we still stand out among others since injustice is always is unavoidable.
