尊敬的团委领导：
我是高二(1205)的王佳钏，因为在学习英文的过程中获益匪浅，而且对英文这一语言颇为感兴趣，所以今与其他几位同学拟创建尖草坪一中“英文社”，将英文交流的乐趣带给更多的同学，让更多的人在学习英文的过程中受益，也为了通过组织社团为我校社团和校园文化建设贡献建设出一份微薄之力，同时也为了日后更加丰富的课余生活，于是向尖草坪一中团委提出申请，成立一个新的社团——英文社。
英语是一门历史悠久，并且相当高雅的语言，发展至今，英语已经成为全世界使用最为广泛，使用国家最多的一门语言的，受到了很多人的欢迎。目前在中国，英语的推广和普及进行的相当顺利。在某些国家，几乎到了无论男女老少都会说英文的地步。而且随着时代的发展，随着经济全球化的演进，随着中国改革开放的步伐，学习英文已经成为每一个中国学生的必修课程，所以开设这样一个社团是十分有进步意义的。开展这样的活动不仅可以让我们的学生领略的不同文化的魅力，感受其与我们母语汉语的差异之处，促进中外文化的交流，为社员的将来发展奠定好一定的基础。在这里，我想强调的是，我们班这个社团的目的绝对不是功利的要提高社员的英语成绩，而是要让他们培养兴趣，做自己喜欢的事情，从中陶冶情操，学会与人交流相处，发展自己的特长。
英语社团通过一系列与英语有关的学习与交流，让大家在浓厚的英语氛围中大胆说英语，以达到真正提高英语爱好者的口语交际，让广大同学们在轻松愉快的气氛中感受英语的魅力，提高自己的英语能力。
在经济全球化发展的今天，学校必须重视对学生综合素质的培养。在社会主义市场经济条件下，学校培养综合能力强的高素质国际化人才已成必然选择。历来很多大学毕业生，为适应社会发展需求，适应经济全球化，具备很强的英语口语交流能力的毕业生在很多外资企业特受欢迎，这已成为当前社会发展的必然需要，因此，学好国际普通话已成迈向成功的必备要素，同时这也是相关社团发展的重要契机.。而学生社团是学校实施素质教育的重要途径和有效方式，为有同样爱好、兴趣的同学提供相互交流的平台，促使校园社团文化健康向上地发展。社团活动在提高学生综合素质、校园文化建设、引导学生适应社会、促进学生就业等方面发挥着重要的作用。学生通过参加社团活动还可以培养一些学术兴趣、发展个性，增强集体意识、团队精神等。
